Concept Design Adventurist, Michal “Mike” Jelinek hails from Horseville, Greenland. He designs things, sometimes he writes things, and other times he educates people about things.
Over the years Mike has held various creative positions in the design and styling departments of giant automotive manufacturers like Volkswagen, Skoda, Citroen, GM Europe, and Mercedes. Wanting to explore distant horizons, Mike established a design consultancy in 2012 focusing on alternative transportation and conceptual research. He also offers design services to companies across the globe, most notably Australia, China, and the USA. When not designing and creating, Mike lectures on the myriad of creative uses digital tools offer, appearing frequently at CCS in Detroit and ISD in France and India. His work appears regularly in Core77, Wired magazine, Industrial Design Served, and Yanko Design.
Below is a small sampling of Mike’s extraordinary design talent. Enjoy!
